Diego is a CCS and subsurface specialist with 20+ years of international experience delivering storage appraisal, regulatory compliance, and permit-ready CO₂ projects across Europe, Asia-Pacific, Australia, and North America.He has contributed to several flagship carbon storage developments including Northern Lights (Norway), Aramis and Porthos (Netherlands), Endurance (UK), Gorgon (Australia), Quest (Canada), Dong-Hae (South Korea), Prinos (Greece), and PTTEP Lang Lebah (Malaysia) and Arthit (Thailand).
His work has covered full storage development planning, Demonstration of Feasibility, risk-based Monitoring & Verification (MMV) design, and annual resource assessments.Diego has worked directly with regulators under the EU CCS Directive and Norwegian storage regulations and has contributed to ISO 27914 conformity reviews. In Australia, he serves on the Standards Australia committee for CCS quantification and verification (TS 5373).Formerly with Shell, Equinor and Halliburton Low Carbon Solutions, he now advises operators, governments and investors on technically robust and commercially defensible carbon storage and industrial decarbonisation strategies.
He is an SPE Distinguished Lecturer (2025–26) on CO₂ storage risk and business models.
